La Red Dominicana de Jóvenes Afrodescendientes realizo este viernes 9 del mes de abril del presente año. El Taller de Prevención del VIH/SIDA en los Jóvenes. Dentro del cual tratamos el tema de transmisión de este virus y como prevenirse del mismo.
El VIH es un virus que debilita las defensas del organismo. Una persona que vive con VIH, sino se atiende, después de varios años puede llegar a desarrollar un conjunto de enfermedades, que es lo que llamamos SIDA.
El VHI se transmite a través de: Relaciones sexuales sin protección, incluyendo sexo anal, vaginal u oral. Así como también por agujas o instrumentos médicos sin esterilizar. Otra forma de transmitirse es por vía de transfusiones de sangre o trasplanté de órganos sin examen previo. al igual de madre a hijo durante el embarazo, el parto o la lactancia materna (transmisión Vertical).
Es bueno recordar que el estigma y la discriminación hacia las personas que viven con VIH y/o SIDA no ayudamos a prevenir esta condición de salud. Al contrario, debilitan los lazos de solidaridad en las comunidades, haciéndolas mas vulnerables frente a la misma.
Para hacer énfasis nos referimos a Estigmatizamos a una persona que vive con VIH/SIDA, cuando su condición de salud nos produce incomodidad y miedo, y nos hace evitarla o rechazarla, llegando a creer que vale menos que nosotr@s.
Al igual que cuando hacemos énfasis en Discriminación no referimos a cuando, debido al miedo que sentimos, excluimos y tratamos mal a las personas que viven con VIH/SIDA.
